Studio Four Design participated as the designer on a multi-discipline design/build team for a proposed German manufacturing facility looking to expand their facilities in the United States. The project brief listed 45 possible counties across 9 states in the U.S. as potential sites. The program required 90,000 sf of Phase I manufacturing, distribution and office space with a Phase II expansion potential of an additional 30,000 sf.

Over the course of one week Studio Four Design and our team prepared a master site plan, conceptual building design and construction budget. The building’s signature architectural forms were inspired by the shape and function of DMG’s sleek, high-tech CNC milling equipment, as a direct reflection of the equipment to be shipped out of this facility. Our concept was short-listed from 45 to 5, but we didn’t make the final cut.
