Faced with the task of renovating the 1980’s era Men’s and Women’s basketball offices, the Athletic Department and Basketball Coaches supplied a clear project directive: establish a new main entrance for the basketball offices, representing the history and tradition of the program. A new entry lobby and museum space were created, and the museum was designed to allow visitors and fans to interact with the history and tradition of the programs.
The Coach’s offices were modified to improve daily functions of the staff, and provide the latest technology for film study. Glass trophy cases and graphics were added along the hallway to showcase players in the NBA and WNBA, National Championships, SEC Championships and All America and All SEC standouts. The materials and finishes selected were an extension of the previous phases to provide a cohesive appearance for recruiting, visitor, coach and fan to enjoy.
