The Master Plan for the Mayor’s Commission on Clinton’s 21st Century Riverfront is a direct response to the collective efforts of the eight planning subcommittees. Its purpose is to present the ideas of the subcommittees as a unified and consistent plan that illustrates the relationships of the various projects; the opportunities and challenges associated with each one and a conceptual schedule and budget for their implementation.
The Master Plan was developed as a 10-year, multi-phase plan to guide the City of Clinton in planning and implementation of physical improvements to the waterfront and downtown by identifying the general programmatic requirements for proposed projects. The plan is designed to be a “living” document; one that will provide sufficient guidance for short and long term development with the flexibility to be responsive to future opportunities or challenges that might arise.
Phase I included the renovation of the Green McAdoo Cultural Center and the first leg of the Clinton Riverwalk. Work is currently being done towards implementing the second phase of the masterplan.
